Making a Pie Chart Using Excel


Step 1- Copying the information  
Below is a list of Continents ranged from the greatest population to the smallest. 
Data Taken: 2010 estimates information taken from the WorldFact Book.

Step 2- Making the Chart
1. Put the above data into an Excel Spread Sheet
2. Then click on the chart tab. You need to select chart at the top of the menu and then choose a pie chart.  You will need to choose the format that shows %.
3. After that you can customize the chart and change the title to: Continents by Population.
4. You can also change the color of the chart and the background if you wish.
5. After completing this last step, Print your chart and turn it in.

Excel Project Day 1

Today we will learn about Microsoft Excel.  We will learn how to use Excel and create a spreadsheet and bar graph.

Be sure to follow the steps in order to create your spread sheet.

1.  Open Microsoft Excel and click on new spreadsheet.

2.  Below is information taken from the census from the 2010.  Copy the information and type it into the spreadsheet that you have created.

3.  Once your information is in the chart, Highlight all of the data you input.

4.  Then click on the Charts Tab.  

5.  Choose Column and pick one to use.

6.  You can change the size of the chart and colors of the bars.

7.  When finished, print, write your name on it and turn it in.
